Just find the the right size for your pop, just starting out 3k works good for low pop. Can go smaller all depends. Also depends on your server specs. Large maps need a lot of ram etc. and gets laggy. After that look for what monuments you prefer or feel your players like. I like a good mix of the biomes and at least one market and gas station. 2..
